General share links allow you to share your entire guidebook simply and securely with anyone—no setup or guest details required. This is the easiest way to give guests access to your property information without worrying about time limits or booking-specific controls.
What Is a General Share Link?
Every property on SmoothStay automatically has a unique general share link—a secure, permanent URL protected with a random guest token. This link never expires (unless you reset it) and can be accessed anytime by anyone with the link.
Quick to share: No guest setup or booking needed.
Permanent link: Remains the same until you manually regenerate the token.
Token protected: Only people with the link can view your guidebook.
No date restrictions: Content is always available, even restricted articles, unless you deactivate the guidebook.
How to Find & Share Your General Share Link
You can access the general share link from several places:
Property screen: The General share link card at the top shows the link, with a copy icon and More options.
Guest Experience: Click the share icon for category, subcategory or article.
Share button: Click Share in the property’s top bar.
Share Popup: Anywhere you see the “Share guidebook” option, choose General share link.
Once opened, you’ll see:
The full share URL
Options to Copy link, Visit to preview, or Generate QR for signage and print materials
Tip: You can also customize your guidebook’s URL path (slug) under Guidebook › Access › URL path for easier sharing.
Security & Access
Token Security: General share links include a guest token—if you reset the token, it immediately disables the previous link and all deep links you have shared before.
Access Control: General share links do not restrict by date or track individual users; use reservation links if you need per-guest control.
Visibility: Restricted articles are always visible in general share links, unless you set your guidebook to inactive or change to public mode (where restricted articles stay hidden).
