Questions About the Affiliate Program
Do I need to be a SmoothStay customer to become an affiliate?
No. It helps, because hosts trust a tool you use yourself, but anyone who works with short-term rental hosts can apply.
Who counts as my referral?
A host who signs up within 90 days of clicking your link, on the same browser, and wasn’t already a SmoothStay customer. If they click another affiliate’s link later, the latest click counts.
Do I earn anything when a host starts on the free plan?
Not on the free plan itself. If they upgrade later, even months later, your 24 months start at their first payment.
What if my referral adds properties or switches to annual?
You earn 20% of whatever they pay, including added properties and plan changes, for their first 24 months.
What happens to my commission if a customer gets a refund?
A refunded payment earns no commission. Because every commission waits 60 days, a refund under our 60-day guarantee never takes back money you’ve received. Chargebacks after a payout are deducted from your next payout.
When and how do affiliates get paid?
On the 15th of each month, by PayPal or bank transfer (you choose in your affiliate dashboard), once your balance reaches $25 and after each commission’s 60-day hold. Your dashboard shows clicks, sign-ups, payments and commissions.
Which countries can join, and who handles taxes?
Anyone who can receive a PayPal payout or a bank transfer can apply. You handle your own taxes; we collect a W-9 or W-8BEN in your affiliate dashboard before your first payout and issue invoices for you.
What are the affiliate rules?
Say you earn a commission whenever you share your link. No paid search ads on “SmoothStay” or its misspellings, no coupon or deal sites, no spam. Only mention features that are live on smoothstay.io, and never suggest moving Airbnb or other OTA guests off the platform. Your own accounts don’t earn commission.
